JOB SUMMARY:
The Representative Payee manages the financial affairs for beneficiaries receiving services from SERV Behavioral Health programs who are incapable of managing their own finances.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides bookkeeping/accounting support to the trust accounts established for consumers for whom SERV is representative payee;
Prepares and distributes reports on all accounts; maintains and records all deposits and disbursements related to the trust accounts;
Maintains files of all cash disbursements to clients; secures authorized signatures on requested checks;
Processes payments for invoices due from consumers, including rent and medical expenses;
Communicates with guardians, staff and other stakeholders when needed;
Provides assistance to outside agencies and auditors; gathers necessary account information and documents to support audits;
Additional duties as assigned or as needed to support departmental or organizational goals.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Ability to build credibility and trust in interpersonal relationships
Computer skills including MS Office
Proficiency with Sage Intaact preferred but not required
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and protecting sensitive information
Verbal and written communications skills
Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills
Accuracy, organizational skills, multitasking and attention to detail;
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY:
High school diploma or equivalent;
2 years relevant experience preferred;
Valid driver’s license in state of residence.
